the lego movie

by

The Lego Movie finally got released in Australia a week or so ago and I have had the chance to see it a few times now and have to say it was good. No, good isn’t the right word for it; it was awesome.

People around me thought I may have built it up to big in my head and would be disappointed when I finally saw it some two months after the USA had seen it, but it did not disappoint in anyway. Finally seeing it on the big screen in all its Lego beauty was well worth the wait and it not only met my expectations it far exceeded them. The first 30 minutes saw me sitting mouth open just soaking everything up, taking it all in and trying to absorb what I was seeing and it only got better from there.

I really don’t know what to say; I have typed the next paragraph six times now and just highlight it all and delete it. When i talk about it now I just find myself regressing to my childhood and wondering what it would be like staring up at the screen, wide eyed and bushy tailed seeing my childhood animated in all its “highly sophisticated interlocking system of bricks” glory

a good friend summed it up the best;

“its like they went inside your head and made a movie out of it”

like the song says: Everything is Awesome…
